Freedom, Only Limited
From James Shelley’s Prison post:
The most effective delusion is the one which holds you captive to the illusion of your own freedom. For if your freedom depends on a certain belief, ideology, device or lifestyle — if you can’t truly be free without it — then are you not actually a prisoner to it? 1
Now, I read Shelley’s posts with a fair bit of regularity. I
thoroughly enjoy...

I Repeat
I’ve said it once, and I’m about to repeat myself…
Just because one has the ability, license, and credentials to stand in front of a throng of students does not mean that one necessarily knows HOW to teach.
Much less do it somewhat effectively.
The End.
Customer What?
Customer service is a two-way street people. All of us who have been in the service industry for any substantial amount of time are keenly aware of the lack of this understanding. Today the prevailing practice is to treat those ‘serving’ us as lowly servants and slaves who are vastly inferior. And Jesus came to heal the sick, not those who are well…

Praying For 2011
Justin Buzzard has posted about something he and his wife have done now for two years. It’s both a look back at the previous year, and a visionary look ahead to the new year. Having done this with my wife, it was an amazing time together remembering all the graces and mercies of 2010, which served as great prompting for praying for and through 2011. Take a look and the questions here.
And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you,...

Looking To 2011
Don Sweeting, President of RTS, writes of things to look for in the new year. Among them the following points caught my attention:
Urbanization In 2010 our world became officially more urban than rural. Just over half of the world now lives in cities. This trend will continue with the growth of mega cities and an expected 70% of the world being urban in 2050. Urban ministry is more important...

So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good. //1Peter 2.1.3 | ESV//

David Platt - “A Sovereign God & A Scandalous Gospel”
Watched this the other day, and was utterly amazed and stilled by the accurate portrait of God that David paints in this message. David has also written a book that is at the top of my list to read → Radical: Taking Back Your Faith From The American Dream.

A Sacrificing Of The Fittest →
But as I was reading through today I came across Lev. 22:21 and immediately saw one of the countless threads rooted in that book of the Bible that’s woven throughout Scripture. In Leviticus the perfect animal sacrifice is called for. The demand is not for just any animal. It couldn’t be deformed or defected in any way. I can only imagine the “Best in Show” of all animals. This also seems to...
